My Netherland Dwarf bunny had been having watery stool for about a week and a half. Yesterday I tried calling a few veterinarian clinics to see if I could bring him in, but no luck. After being referred to Lefferts Animal Hospital, the receptionist stated that they could see me that same day!  The people in the waiting room were friendly and they made the time pass by quickly! Plus, I came in at 6:20 pm and was out of there by 7:20 pm! The receptionist was super friendly as well as Dr. Valdez - I love how he handled my bunny! After prescribing him antibiotics, he seems to be doing so much better after one day of use! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Ive been a returning client, along with my family & there pets, as well as have referred my friends to receive daily vet care here. They have treated my pets with the utmost care from regular checkups, to surgery & finally to their last days. Plus its affordable & easy to make an appointment. I lost both my senior dogs recently & they made the process so emotionally safe for my pets which is so necessary. The whole staff treats your pet like they are their own. Been coming here since my childhood pet was brought home in the 90s. Always honest, compassionate, and caring towards you and your pet. We just had to put our very old cat down, after 20 + years. And what a beautiful, heartfelt, and emotional experience it was. The staff were so supportive and they brought us into a special room with a beautiful painted window of clouds, fake flowers, art on the walls that really felt like more thought was given to such a hard experience. I have appreciated them through all of the years and all of the pets, but their ability to grow and become better Healthcare providers amazes me. Thank you so much to everyone, from the front desk, to the techs, to the Dr's. Tiger's last moments were surrounded by so much love and I can't thank you enough.

We have been going to Lefferts for 9 years with our 2 dogs. All the staff are efficient, knowledgeable, caring and kind to both my husband and myself and our dogs. We use Dr. Valdez who answers all our questions thoroughly and never rushes us. Recently our dog needed to have a tooth pulled and a full dental cleaning and Dr. Birchter was wonderful. The owner, Dr. Halpern, is very concerned that he provides great service. We would never go anywhere else. You can be confident that your pet will receive excellent care.

Cant say enough good things about Lefferts Animal Hospital. We found them during the pandemic, and they were so accommodating, caring and considerate. We took our buddy there a few times before we finally had to let him go. He had severe anxiety and they still took care of him, comforted him as best as they could and made us feel comfortable with them. He is no longer with us but we will never forget the care Lefferts provided in our time of need! The last thing they did for us I'll never forget, we got a card in the mail, signed by the staff with copies of his paw prints, sending us their sympathies... It was the kindest thing ever. 100% definitely recommend Lefferts Animal Hospital.

After going to animal ER in a panic for my 14-15 year old fur baby (NuNu) who had a vestibular disease ( "old dog disease" ) episode being charged over $600 for 10 minutes and hit with a estimate to proceed care that would have cost me over $4000 just to monitor her over night! I decided to wait and bring her to her vet/Animal hospital (Lefferts animal hospital). I felt hopeless because everyone else would not proceed unless I paid for a MRI (which would have cost me over $5000)... The doctors at Lefferts animal hospital immediately made me feel better and told me they would NOT recommend an MRI because the cost was excessive and pointless. She is 15 years old... if we did an MRI, and something appeared, would we do brain surgery? NO! so what would be the point. They checked her throughly... prescribed some meds and she was on her road to recovery immediately ❤️ She is still in recovery mode and has gotten so much better! I still have my fur baby with me! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I Cannot express my appreciation and gratitude enough! Thank you for being kind.. comforting... thorough and cost conscious! A++++

I have been a client of Lefferts Animal Hospital for over nine years. What has amazed me is our most recent visit. Our senior cat Rose, needed her teeth, cleaned and one tooth, needed to be extracted. After her procedure was complete. We were not only pleased with how well her recovery went. We were amazed by the change of behavior. She behaves like a brand new cat. We are amazed. Moving forward I will not hesitate when it comes to dental care for our cats.

You know the doctor is good if you are willing to take an Uber all the way to Richmond Hill! Doctor Mittal has been nothing but a saint to me and my Fur baby! I’m never going to have kids and my Fur child is the closest I’ll ever have to being a dad. Libby is a special French bull dog with floppy ears and a wall eye. The outcast from California that no one else wanted. But he found his forever home here in NYC. Like every dog parent, your biggest fear is your baby not being taken care of properly, but I, hands down put all my trust on Doctor Mittal! Thank you for everything!

I decided to go in as a walk in after my puppy got into an accident and they accommodated us so well (they are usually appointment based) without waiting too long. Once inside with the vet assistant, the young lady made me feel so comfortable and helped me relax a little  - my anxiety was very high and my emotions were all over the place seeing my puppy in pain. The doctor was also amazing, she discussed the next steps we needed to follow and made me feel that my puppy was in good hands. I appreciate the care they provided with my puppy and the way they assured me throughout the whole process. It was my first time being in this office, but definitely will be back for wellness check ups. Recommend!

Saved my dog's "Little Girl Dakota Brown life twice" Pyometra ( operated on her uterus) and a few years later operated and removed her spleen. I trust no one else with my pets lives. Not only are they friendly and professional they are not price gouging and their rates are not astronomical. I trust them 1000% and recommend them as the best in the 5 boroughs of NYC
